As it''s a place thought I''d put one here. Quite an interesting place historically. Originally built around AD 280 to house a contingent of cavaly to repel Saxon invaders. I think they were Greek or Turkish? It was originally called Gariannonum.
It''s been used by Romans through to Saxons, Normans and monks. The Normans even built a moate and bailey inside the castle.
