it's banned in most of Europe and only one cinema chain in the uk has announced they will show it, the rest plan on boycotting it.. comes out March 3rd i think.. so hopefully it gets sorted.

Lat few weeks I've been watching Terry Gilliam movies.. not that I'm trying to give myself nightmares or anything.. lol

It wasn't a bad film, but be disappointed if your experting some like the Animated cartoon or the same story from the books, Brilliant of your into Tim Burton.. it was Alice in Burton world, you'll notice many similar images from his films.. most notable the 'tree of dead' from sleepy hollow.
But don't be fooled with all the Depp posters and talks.. Alice is still the focus of the film.. in fact Depp was a little disappointing overall.

Danny Elfmans best score since 2005.

Also i watched the 3D and while it's a nice experience it didn't add anything extra to the film really, some of is was fuzzy. for me the slower the action the better the 3d was.. i am half blind in one eye and i was still able to experience the full thing... but the still images, logos and light movements were fantastic.

As many people might wonder it may be a bit much for under 6.. i mean it's a PG was it recommend 8+ which seemed a bit right.. and no it's not 'dark' it's Burton light, colorful and fun.

Over hyped... yep, Not Tims best work,
7/10

Avatar was boring, a real snooze..and poorly written.
I think I'll skip any movies he makes in the future..not that his early ones were great but at least they were intelligent and entertaining. to bad another one bites the dust.
In it's defense it looked nice.

Micmacs was brilliant.. ones of the best quirky movies I've seen for a while.

I also saw Be Kind Rewind which was superb, for a silly movie. Pity Gondry has been working on the awful Green Hornet movie

And im really looking forward to the new stop-motion Pinocchio., well i said that 2 years ago but now it in full development, Guillermo del Toro is co-directing as he walk off the Hobbit movie, with Gris Grimly who illustrated the book a few years ago, Grimly also told me the Jim Henson company are producing it..
And Nick cave is doing the soundtrack.. man it doesn't get much better than this.
