was this the won with a dungeon tour? had all chains the things hanging up on the walls? |
It used to be for years but they've moved the death masks and the gibbet up to the ground floor of the keep. The ducking chair seems to have disappeared unfortunately and the bit of skull that was always on the gibbet hook has been removed.
I think I preferred it how it was. _________________ UrbanShadow.net |

| Love the Castle photos! We recently visited Colchester Castle Museum which the whole family enjoyed.. so Norwich Castle is now on our "to do" list. |

That was me writing in February and I still haven't been...well I have still got a few weeks left in this year to pay a visit so hopefully I will make it before 2010 _________________ To write with a broken pencil...is pointless. |

Made it with two and a bit weeks left before 2010. Went today and had an enjoyable two and a half hours mooching about the castle. I have been laid up and fairly immobile this last three weeks due to back trouble (prolapsed disc) so it was good to be back out and about again and the visit to Norwich Castle certainly was worth the entrance fee of £6. It wasn't very busy so had plenty of time and space to enjoy the diverse exhibits, from Viking Runes to Lowestoft pottery, and there is even a Tracey Emin work hung in one of the galleries. Never made the dungeons...so I have that to look forward to on my next visit. _________________ To write with a broken pencil...is pointless. |

probably a good thing you didn't make it down the dungeonrs... wouldn't want you to get locked in before Christmas. _________________
